Delhi has been in the news whenever we talk about strengthening the base of Electric vehicles in India. Following the trend of staying in the news headlines, the Delhi government has taken one more step towards establishing Delhi as the “Electric Vehicle capital of India”. Delhi has launched a live portal for electric vehicles. The portal will allow the potential buyers of electric vehicles to avail the subsidies. The government of Delhi has accepted near to 11 models of different firms offering E-bicycles.
Delhi Electric bicycle Policy Highlights:
- A subsidy of INR 5,500 will be given to 10,000 people who are potential buyers or who will buy the e-vehicle by the Delhi government. In addition, the Delhi Electric Policy offers a subsidy of INR 1000 to the first thousand buyers of the e-cycles.
- Motovolt Mobility Private Limited, Stryder Cycle Private Limited, Hero Lectro E-cycles, and Nexzu Mobility Limited have received the government’s approval for providing E-cycles.
- The Delhi government has also come up with the procedure of a single window for the installation of electric vehicle chargers in semi-public and private places in Delhi.
- The government plans to install approximately 30,000 stations for charging e-vehicles across the roads.
