South Korean automaker Hyundai has
finally revealed the design of the Ioniq 6 electric vehicle based on the 2020
Prophecy EV concept. This is what the first Apple car could have looked like.

Hyundai notes that the Ioniq 6
offers an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.21 thanks to its low nose and active
air dams. An elliptical wing-like spoiler and a slightly shaped tail also help
make it more aerodynamic. By comparison, most modern cars have an average drag
coefficient of 0.25 or 0.3.

The interior of the Ioniq 6 feels
like a cocoon finished with eco-friendly materials such as eco-leather or
recycled PET fabric for the seats. Designed for electric vehicles, Hyundai’s
E-GMP modular platform allowed designers to increase the size of the vehicle
and make its floor completely flat. As an entertainment and navigation system
in the cabin, a modular touch instrument panel with a 12-inch touch screen and
a 12-inch digital cluster are installed.

Rumor has it that Apple wanted to
release its first electric vehicle based on Hyundai’s modular E-GMP platform,
but the companies suspended talks in early 2021.

The automaker has not yet
revealed the full list of specifications for the electric car, but a full-scale
announcement will take place as early as July.
